Let's Encrypt Certificate

Setting up Let’s Encrypt on GenX



Let’s Encrypt is a free open source SSL certificate which is available on both our Linux and Windows GenX Web Hosting services. Further Information on Let’s Encrypt can be found here https://letsencrypt.org/


+Firstly, Login into your web hosting service


Unix: https://genx-vps2-unx.simplyms.com:8443/
Windows: https://genx-vps2-win.simplyms.com:8443/


+Select Let’s Encrypt



+Enter your email address, and select if you also want to include www to be covered by the SSL certificate, then click Install



+Please allow 15 minutes for the certificate to be enabled

Forcing SSL

In order to force your SSL certificate to be used each time you visit your website please follow these steps below

+Select Hosting Settings



+Tick both (If not already) SSL/TLS Support and Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect from HTTP to HTTPS, then make sure the Let’s Encrypt Certificate is selected next to Certificate (If you have more than one website please ensure you select the correct certificate)



+Finally click OK


Your Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate is now setup
