DNS Management



IMPORTANT

Before making any dns changes please check you are using our name servers first, you can check this with your current domain/dns provider or by contacting our support team on 01925 818 252 or support@simplymailsolutions.com

Before updating your name servers please make sure all required dns records are in place first, updating your name server beforehand may result in service down time

Our Name Servers are:

ns1.simplyms.com
ns2.simplyms.com

Existing SMS customers who have purchased their domain through us or using our name servers already will not need to make any changes and can administer their dns through the SMS Control Panel


+Firstly, go to https://cp.simplyms.com and login with your Username and Password



+Select Hosted Domains



+Select DNS



+Click Add New DNS Record



A Records

Set Record Type to A

Enter a Domain hostname if you want to use a subdomain, for example www otherwise leave blank

Enter the IP Address you want the A record to point to

Finally Click Finish

Please allow up to 24hrs for the changes to take effect



CNAME Records

Set Record Type to CNAME

Enter a Domain hostname, for example www

Enter the Canonical name, for example your domain name

Finally Click Finish

Please allow up to 24hrs for the changes to take effect



MX Records

Set Record Type to MX

Enter a Mail Domain if required, this can remain blank in most situations

Select a Preference from the drop down

Enter your Mail exchanger (MX) record

Finally Click Finish

Please allow up to 24-48hrs for the changes to take effect



SRV Records

Set Record Type to SRV

Enter a Service and Protocol

Select a Preference from the drop down

Enter the Weight

Enter Service Host and Port Number in the second box

Finally Click Finish

Please allow up to 24hrs for the changes to take effect



TXT Records

Set Record Type to TXT

Enter a Domain hostname if required, this can remain blank in most situations

Enter the Data for the TXT record

Finally Click Finish

Please allow up to 24hrs for the changes to take effect
